02 / FAQ
Before you start
Does this extract the original images?
No. It renders each selected PDF page as a whole image, including visible text and graphics. It does not extract individual embedded pictures.
Should I use JPG or PNG?
JPG is useful for photographs and usually produces smaller files. PNG uses lossless image compression and works well for text and diagrams. Both outputs have a white background.
What do the resolution options mean?
96, 144 and 216 DPI control output pixels. Higher settings produce larger files and use more memory. They cannot add detail missing from the source.
Can I convert every page?
Leave the page range blank to select all pages. Batches are limited to 50 pages; use ranges such as 1-50, then 51-100 for longer files.
